Powering the Night Sky: Essential Gear for Astrophotography

Personal Note

What I absolutely love about Jackery is how they truly stand behind their products with a genuine commitment to customer service.

They make everything so smooth and hassle-free—if something goes wrong, their warranty process is straightforward and stress-free.

It’s rare to find a company these days that makes you feel valued as a customer, but Jackery really delivers.

Knowing I can count on them if I ever have an issue gives me complete peace of mind, especially when I’m relying on their gear out in remote areas for astrophotography adventures. It’s just one more reason I keep coming back to their products!

Granted, this is my experience and in the end you should choose what feels best for you and within your chosen price range.

I’ve been using the Jackery Explorer 300, and it’s honestly awesome.

It’s got a 293Wh capacity, so it handles small appliances and can charge up to six devices at once—perfect for camping trips or power outages.

What I really love is how fast it recharges—just 2.5 hours if you use both the wall charger and a USB-C PD charger.

My only issue is that this battery would not run my astrogear all evening.  I was able to get a solid 5-hours before the battery would be used up.

That is why I purchased the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Portable Power Station during one of the large sales.

The Explorer 1000 v2 is a game-changer for my astrophotography.

I never have to worry about this battery running dry overnight. With its impressive 1500W output, it powered my entire setup—including my mount, camera, and laptop—all night without a hiccup.

What is amazing about all Jackery batteries is how fast they charge up again from the wall or using the Jackery SolarSaga 100W Solar Panel which I also own.

If you're looking for a reliable battery to keep your gear running under the stars, this is the one.

The Jackery SolarSaga 100W solar panel has been an absolute lifesaver for my remote astrophotography trips.

When you’re out in the middle of nowhere with no power hookups, having something this lightweight (only 7.94 lbs!) and portable makes a huge difference.

It’s super easy to set up, and the 24.3% solar conversion efficiency means I can keep my gear powered through long nights of shooting without worrying about running out of juice.

Plus, the waterproof and durable (I’ve tested that on accident) design is a must when nature throws surprises your way. I’m so thankful for this thing—it keeps me chasing the stars no matter how far off the grid I go!
