The Story: A Journey of Light and Learning

The night sky is a vast, dark blanket. For a young girl named Aurora, it’s a canvas of endless wonder and an invitation to adventure. Alongside her loyal dog, Sirius, she gazes out her window, full of questions about the universe, dreaming of the worlds that lie beyond her reach.   In our story, a "BEEP-BEEP!" sounds from whirring instruments. Aurora’s brow furrows, and her tummy flutters like a trapped butterfly. But with a soft, comforting nudge from Sirius, she takes a deep breath and focuses on her goal: Polaris, the North Star. This is the essence of

Aurora's Cosmic Adventures—a tale of a young explorer who learns to overcome her fears and find her own path, all while discovering the scientific marvels of the cosmos. This is more than a children’s book; it’s an invitation to explore the unknown. Through the adventure of a homemade rocket and the discovery of distant, swirling planets , we turn foundational scientific concepts into thrilling adventures that are both accessible and inspiring.

Honored to be a Finalist in the 2025 Oregon Wild Photography Competition

I am incredibly proud and honored to announce that my photograph, "First Light at Indian Sands," has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious 2025 Oregon Wild Photography Competition.

This image, a serene capture from the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, represents a moment of quiet magic. It was taken at dawn on the first day of the new year, when the rising sun cast a soft, golden glow over the unique and rugged landscape of Indian Sands. The photograph shows one of the area's iconic natural rock arches, a testament to the raw, untamed beauty of the Oregon coast.

Being recognized by Oregon Wild, an organization dedicated to protecting our state's incredible wild spaces, is a profound affirmation of my passion. My goal as a photographer has always been to share the beauty and majesty of the wild places I've been fortunate enough to experience, and this recognition reinforces that purpose.

I believe this image captures not just a place, but a feeling—of new beginnings, of raw power, and of serene beauty. To bring this moment into your home, prints of "First Light at Indian Sands" are now available for purchase. Thank you for your support and for celebrating the wild heart of Oregon with me.

As I matured, my passion for environmental conservation deepened, propelling me to take concrete actions to safeguard our planet. Through thorough research and strategic planning, I forged a partnership with One Tree Planted, a renowned organization committed to reforestation efforts and environmental sustainability.

In a bid to further amplify our impact, I devised a unique approach at Ma’yet Photography, where for every $20 spent, a tree would be planted on behalf of the customer. This innovative initiative not only promotes environmental consciousness but also offers participants the chance to receive a tree certificate, symbolizing their contribution to a greener future.
